Lisa Rico:
New Director of Religious Education

From a very young age, I was called to work with children and serve the vulnerable. Right out of high school I began my career in social work, starting in the fields of central Illinois, where I grew up alongside migrant farm workers and their children. Working with Migrant Head Start gave me the foundation to serve others with cultural empathy.

After moving to Chicago to complete my graduate degree in Social Work, I began serving inner city Latino families as a family therapist and school liaison.

My husband, Carlos and I are the proud parents of five children. We moved to Pasadena 7 years ago. I have spent most of these recent years volunteering at my children’s schools and in the community.

The past three years, I have volunteered in the Children’s Liturgy of the Word Ministry developing a program and bringing the Good News to our St. Andrew Children during the 9:30 am Mass. In addition to this I am a catechist and serve on the Liturgy Committee.

I am very eager to work for all of our families in my new role as Director of Religious Education and look forward to meeting more members of our parish community.
