St. Vincent de Paul’s Food & Toy Drive

St. Andrew parishioners, friends, and visitors are invited to bring an unwrapped toy or make a donation of funds for a gift to be given to an infant, girl, or boy, up to age 12, or non-perishable food items for those in need on Saturday December 13th at the 5pm Mass and at all the Masses on Sunday December 14th. All gifts will be brought to the Altar during the time of the reception of the gifts.

Gift suggestions are: board games, stuffed animals, backpacks, basket balls, etc. Food items can be canned vegetables, soups, 1-2 lb. pack of pasta, rice or beans, and any money donations are appreciated.

Your generous contributions in past years have helped many families, children, and the homeless. The St. Vincent de Paul conference here at St. Andrews was the first in the San Gabriel area and was founded here in 1926. Many people have helped with their generous donations of gifts, time, and funds. During this year over 9000 people have received either help through-out the year from your donations. Please continue to support our parish and keep our brothers and sisters who need our help in mind.

“…Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the creation of the world. For I was hungry, and you fed me. I was thirsty, and you gave me a drink. I was a stranger, and you invited me into your home. I was naked, and you gave me clothing. I was sick, and you cared for me. I was in prison, and you visited me.”-- Matthew 25:35

Peace & Social Justice

Thank You for supporting the 2014 Sock Drive! Thanks to the generosity of our parishioners and St. Andrew School families, approximately 800 pairs of socks were collected during this year's Sock Drive.  Thanks to this effort, hundreds of individuals and families with limited income and/or homeless will be receiving a warm pair of socks during this cold winter season.  This effort also serves as a way for our St. Andrew Parish and School community to cooperate and support the mission of neighboring agencies, churches and our own St. Vincent de Paul Society, that serve vulnerable sisters and brothers.   Below is a list of these organizations and the amount of pairs of socks they will be receiving. We invite you to learn more and support in any way possible these organizations:

  • Unions Station Homeless Services - 315 pairs/pares
  • Bad Weather Shelter of Pasadena (organized by Friends in Deed) - 200 pairs
  • Impact House, Pasadena - 100 pairs of adult socks
  • St. Vincent de Paul Society at St. Andrew Church- 50 pairs of adult socks /45 pairs of children socks
  • St. Vincent de Paul Society at St. Elizabeth Church, Altadena - 45 pairs of children socks
  • Door of Hope - 45 pairs of children socks
